What are the steps that the government will take to help e-commerce companies boost exports?

The Government of India is expected to take many measures that are projected to benefit e-commerce companies based in India such as Snapdeal and Myntra. These actions are also supposed to be beneficial for several companies working in the garment and handicraft sector as far as increasing their footprints on the global platform is concerned. To achieve this aim, the government would look to make sweeping changes to the export framework that governs their sales outside the country. Among the various measures being considered is a total switch over to filing systems on the internet.

Doing away with caps
At present, there is a cap of INR 25,000 on the purchase. It is expected that this cap would be done away with as well. As per a senior official in the finance ministry, the government has identified several steps to make sure that the e-commerce industry finds it easier to trade. Already in Mumbai, a pilot has been launched to this effect, and soon other customs ports will be brought under the purview of this as well. Normally exports done through these web based marketplaces are dependent on entities such as small packages and couriers.

The matter of paperwork
It also needs to be noted in this context that a significant amount of paperwork is needed in these cases at the ports. The couriers play the role aggregators on behalf of the ECommerce platforms. This means that one courier may need to deal with some packages at the same time. However, unlike the bigger exporters they will only be dealing with a few goods. They would also need to do separate paperwork for each package that they are exporting. It is possible that they would be permitted to make just one submission for all the packages that they are exporting.

Speeding up trade
It is expected that this would help in making trade quicker. The official has also said that the main aim is to make sure that the process is simpler than before and make it an online one. The official has also said that later on the cap of INR 25,000 may either be removed or increased as well. The official has also said that this particular change would take place in a short span of time. At present this restriction is being applied to goods that are being sent to courier companies that have lobbied the government regarding this issue and others that concern them.

What happens now?
At present these goods are being sent out in the form of samples. In case of some sectors such as garment and handloom, they are exported as proper products. These products are also capable of being provided export incentives that are offered by the Union Commerce and Industry Ministry. This revamp is being done as part of the National Action Plan for Trade Facilitation that India has taken up recently. Arun Jaitley, the Union Finance Minister, released this plan on July 20.

Joke of the day 1

How Anita Dongre help to promote the crafts of Indian female artisans?

Anita Dongre is one of the fashion designers of India who has played a major role in helping the craftwork of women artisans of the country thrive. She has actively promoted them. One of the major steps that she has taken in this regard has been starting a project named Grassroot in August 2015. This project can be called a veritable conclusion of all the values that she enshrines as an individual and as a business entrepreneur. These are the principles that she has staunchly adhered to all her life and she believes in them with all her being.

Qualities of Grassroots
All the products manufactured under the banner of Grassroot are earth-friendly, animal-friendly, and eco-friendly as well. In fact, as Dongre has said time and again, Grassroots remains the closest to her heart. She has openly expressed her desire to be able to do some work with traditional Indian craft forms. According to her these are steeped in tradition apart from being “real, earthy and rich” in her own words. She has always wanted to bring back the importance of the heirloom and handicraft tradition of India and with Grassroots she wants to be able to do just that.

Why was it necessary?
Speaking about Grassroot, Dongre has said that the critical state of Indian handicraft and art has forced her to take such a decision in the first place. According to her the craft industry in India is dying a slow death with every passing day. This is why she feels that it is very necessary to have fashion houses to save it. Even though she has taken a right step in this regard with the creation of Grassroot she feels that more such entities need to come around and establish partnerships with the local artisans.

Giving them a platform
She feels that these entities can give these artisans a platform where they can showcase their work. This she feels will be a scenario where everyone involved will be significantly benefited. This will also help these artisans sustain their work over a longer period of time. Grassroot is already playing a major role in supporting these artists carrying on with their work. The design teams working for Dongre travel to various villages with NGOs and study their work. They then create a design language that is based on that and has a global appeal as well.

What are the areas of work?
Grassroot has so far worked with eight weaves and 12 craft styles and forms. Some of them may be mentioned as below:
·         Banaras
·         Ikat
·         Khadi
·         Bhagalpur Silk
·         Chikankari
·         Block Prints
·         Bandhani
·         Warli paintings

The organization has also worked in a number of states of India such as Gujarat, Punjab, Madhya Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh (AP), and Uttar Pradesh (UP). It has collaborated with organizations such as SEWA Trade Facilitation Centre in order to make sure that the women artisans from villages in Gujarat have at least 100 days of work.

Benefits
This has benefitted a number of women artisans in villages across the state. Normally the NGO is responsible for payment, which is decided on the basis of hours devoted to creating the piece. Also taken into account in this case is the level of complexity associated with the work created. The final product is priced in a competitive manner so that more demand can be created for the same. In fact, it is this thought process that has made the entire project sustainable in the first place. Dongre feels that with Grassroot she will be able to give some dignity back to the artisans that they need so much.

Why India gets Startup Funding from G20 countries?

In the recent G20 Summit, India has created a strong impact in the global business scene by presenting facts that prove that India is doing everything it can to help startup business firms so that they can develop and grow in their prospects.

The G20 countries have taken note of the steps that have been taken by India to promote inclusive and sustainable growth for the new business firms. They have also observed the way India has contributed to offer support to the global economy, and have praised the various initiatives taken by the country to enhance and promote ease of carrying out business activities.

India’s openness to providing startup funding to new and young entrepreneurs along with carefully planned labor reforms are sure to improve the business scene in this country in the coming years.

In the Hamburg Action Plan that was adopted by the 20 largest global economies at the recently held G20 Summit, the leaders observed that India is working with and helping to promote a number of important derivative instruments in electronic trading platforms or exchanges within the financial sector. These measures are certainly going to help in boosting the resilience of the country’s economical conditions.

The summit also noted that India is currently facilitating ECBs or external commercial borrowings through the startup firms so that they may help to encourage innovation as well as make it easier for companies to carry out their business activities.

The G20 countries are currently taking vital steps to ensure momentum on sustainable growth and effective structural reforms, and this new approach taken by India to enhance their business scene have certainly appealed to the G20 countries.

The strategies and working policies that have been adapted by India currently focus on implementing labor market reforms that can offer additional security to workers along with increased participation of females in the workforce. They are also working to ease the whole process of carrying out business in India which can certainly usher a new age of commercial development. This is certainly going to encourage investors from India and abroad to come and be a part of various business and developmental projects that are being introduced in this part of the world.

Such plans and steps taken by India are in line with the essential goals of the G20 Summit, which has appealed to its leaders in a major way. The recent G20 Summit was also attended by the Prime Minister of India, Mr. Narendra Modi who presented his case of proving that India’s business scene has improved greatly over the years and is now a perfect hub for carrying out large scale business activities.

The Modi government recently announced that India aims to be within one of the world’s top 50 nations when it comes to ease of carrying out business activities. This is not only going to usher great commercial development in India but also take the country to a whole new level within the global economy. There are certainly areas that India still needs to work on if the country has to achieve this goal.

According to the World Bank, these specific weak areas include enough ready facilities for companies to start a business, paying the taxes, registering property, dealing with the construction permits, trading across borders, resolving insolvency and enforcing contracts.

Over the last few years, India has implemented numerous reforms that can help to reduce or fight issues relating to taxation, insolvency as well as starting of a business. These reforms are expected to enhance the rankings in a major way and help the country to enter a new age of economic development.

World Population Day is celebrated every year on July 11

World population is on rise and this is we all know the biggest issue for future. As the Population growing we are facing problems for employments, food, water etc. Now this is the right time to think of it.

World population day started by USA in 1989 and celebrated all over world. The total number is over 7 billions if we think of all over earth from which major contributors are China and India who have 1.3 billion and 1.2 billion respectively.

Why this is a big concern?
If we will not stop this rapid growth our future generation will face deep trouble for job, food and other issue. Let's think to make people aware of this situation. All we know there are NGOs who are helping this but as a person all we need to spread this message to mainly uneducated men and women. More over we have to explain them to use of contraception, use of condoms and more on different methods of birth control.

Why we should share our ride with others in Metros?

We all commute daily for different reason but lets discuss about travelling to and from office. More and more rural population now moving towards cities for job and this rapid change creating chaos on roads of all major big towns.

India still lagging behind from other countries in term of traffic and pollution. It is our responsibility to handle it and make life easy for everyone.

If you think about easy travel Delhi and Pune is the place where you can travel faster in a speed of 23 KM per Hour, hyderabad, bangalore, munbai, chennai and kolkata all are slower than them.

Why this is happening?
Main reason of this is our public transport is not upto mark in those places, so people use own bike and cars to go office which increase pollution level and traffic problem. It will definitely not surprise you when you know indian cities are among the most polluted cities in the world.

Let's reduce it and make life easier for future generation, so one soultion is we should travel in a group which cost effective and environment friendly.

How can you able to do it?
Check with your Friedns if you come office from same place.
Use ride sharing Apps like OLA, UBER, Meru Cab etc

What are the things you must buy while rent a room alone in a new city?

We all of different style of living at our own home. India is vast country where each state have multiple languages and food habits.

Due to work assignment most of us move between state and cities where everything looks new. In Kolkata where life easy for food, it is not same in southern places like chennai or hyderabad. if you travel with your family it is well and good but if you move alone life is difficult.

In kolkata people understand hindi and bengali, you can get food from 10 rupees on a road side stall to 3000 at a 5 star hotel for a single meal. This not same for places like bangalore, hyderabad or chennai. you can not find small road side stalls for food, minimum north indian meal starts around 100 and low cost south indian food you can not eat.

So finally you have to cook at home on your own arrangement and bring lunch tiffin boxes to office, which is tough who do not know cooking.

But yes life is a school till death you have to learn and keep learning. So when you have completed the first step and rent a room, next is buy house hold items.

Let's see the list of items you need to run your life.

  • Gas Connection or an induction cooker
  • Utensils
  • Buckets
  • Bed and mattress
  • Hangers
  • Iron
  • Grocerry
  • Bath necessities
  • TV if you are a TVHOLIC
  • Internet Connection
  • Wifi Router
  • and Many More as per your life style and salary

How to travel in indian metros when you are completely new to a Place?

All of us keep travelling to new places for different reasons, few do for job relocation, some for medical treatment, rich do for vacation, poor go to find a job.

We all have different cause of doing this, living far from home town is not easy for most of us where we have everything which are our own.

To reach a metro we have to choose communication mode according to our budget and choose from bus, train or flight.

Once anyone of you reach a new city, the most difficult part is travelling inside the town. But the picture is not same like it was before a decade. Now travel companies like OLA, UBER, Taxi4Sure are helping us to travel in time and budget price.

It is very easy to book these services, but you must have a smart phone with you which have internet connection from anyone of it(2G, 3G or 4G).

I assume every Indian who lives in metro have a smart phone whether he is a kamwali, auto wala or your boss.

To book these services download the app, install it. Select your pickup point and destination point. You are all set, your selected vehicle will reach you in minute and leave you in your destination without much bothering.

What good about it is you can share your details to friends and family for more safety where all details like vehicle number, driver name, time, pickup point share automatically and it cost effective.
